For bookings, where possible I prefer to book live musicians in preference to backing tracks.
Live musicians will provide a lot more variety and can respond to an audience in a way that backing tracks just can't manage.
Due to availability, I am not always able to locate deftly skilled musicians to work with (which is a big part of why I am working solo) but for special events, I like to have a go.
Jazz duo with Roger (guitar)
I have been working with Roger for 36 years! and managed to involve him in pretty much every band I have created. When it comes to strumming chords, Roger is Mr Rhythm and provides a solid and reliable backbone for me to build my improvisation from.

Traditional Jazz Band
For some decades I have been running this traditional jazz quintet Swervy World when I can get the musicians together.
