The story so far... Having taken early leave from skool, I was aimlessly hopping from job to job in my hometown, then one day the circus came to town and when the circus left, I left with them!
Putting up show posters, helping with the big top and walking the ponies for a travelling circus was a great way to see the country.
One of the circus clowns, Mr Pineapple Head, had an old, “barely playable” saxophone and told me I could have it if I learn to play it.
Years later... After mastering Mr Pineapple Head’s saxophone and acquiring my own “more playable” instrument, I discovered the art of playing on windy, forgotten street corners for tips. With this practical fund raising technique, I adopted a romantic lifestyle, moving from town to town playing jazz, blues, rock n roll and open to whatever fortunes (or miss-fortunes) came my way.
Living in a car or under canvas and roaming Britains less travelled roads, I met other like-minded troubadours and formed the raggle-taggle street band ‘Swervy World’.

I have produced 14 albums, either with my own group ‘Swervy World’ or under my past name ‘Mr Swervy’.

To this day, I travel the roads and paths of England, Wales and France, as enthusiastic today as on the first day with “Martin” my rusty saxophone and "Toyah" my camping car.
